Instructional Design

Develops and designs courses and curriculum. Creates learning experiences and environments. Designs learning activities, assignments, and assessments. Develops instructor's manuals, rubrics, and other authoring tools. Collaborates with subject experts to develop course content. Manages online learning communities. Analyzes, updates, and refines existing online content. Trains instructors and learners on how to use learning technologies. Keeps current on best practices in instructional design. Writes scripts for video and audio content. Works with technical staff to troubleshoot problems reported by users.

Skills:

Knowledge of instructional theory, including assessment Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS) Understanding of website design best practices Experience with design platforms, such as InDesign Familiarity with course management systems, such as Blackboard Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical colleagues and clients.
