Job summary
Database Administrator (DBA) plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation security and optimization of Informix databases within an organization
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Install configure and upgrade IBM Informix database software on various platforms including Linux Unix and Windows environments.
Configure instance parameters environment variables and connectivity options to optimize performance and reliability.
Set up and maintain database storage structures including dbspaces chunks and logical/physical logs.
Monitor database health performance and availability using built-in tools and third-party monitoring solutions.
Troubleshoot and resolve database issues including locking deadlocks and resource contention.
Implement database patches hotfixes and version upgrades with minimal downtime.
Perform regular database integrity checks and routine maintenance tasks.
Design and implement comprehensive backup and disaster recovery strategies including regular full incremental and logical backups.
