Role: INDIA Payroll Implementation Lead

Reports to: Global Transformation Director / PMO

Duration: 12 months

Location: Remote - Hybrid with travel to other offices as required

Programme description:

Aveva is in a period of change and transformation across its Global HR function with a need to migrate Payroll in India from a legacy vendor to a new vendor by March 2027. With the transformation comes a new Operating model including Integrations from Workday to Payroll and Payroll to Oracle APIs.

What you'll be doing:

As the India Payroll Implementation lead, you will work as part of a Global Implementation delivery team of 10 roles across EMEA, APAC, India, Americas, Finance, Integrations & data migration, PMO & Change Management.

The role will report into the Global Payroll Transformation director and you will own all plan milestones, reporting weekly to PMO on Risks, Issues & Status working closely with the business operations team & vendor as and when needed.

You will lead on country implementations, working to Programme Design Principles and ensure correctly issued Blueprint & design, Documentation, Processes, Data migration, UAT, Parallel and go live / hyper care support.

You will help to identify, assess the impact of and build through local market legislative needs as well as helping to define the data governance behind reporting for the various HR, Finance & business role types. You will be eager to learn with a creative mindset, support your colleagues and have fun.

This role will include but not be limited to:

  • Lead on each country implementation lifecycle from workshops, gather requirements for build, lead of testing, UAT, any SIT support for integrations, data migration, Parallel run, Go Live & Hyper care.
  • Undertake a gap-fit assessment of current data and the processes that have been built to date. With a focus on local legislative requirements where applicable.
  • Bring in process & control improvements that stretches the width of the project, with links to all work streams across & including: Vendor Configuration, Technology Integrations, Reporting, Testing
  • Document any recommended design decisions for Design Authority & Change approval board approval.
  • Work with HRIS to develop Workday pre integration Payroll Reports to analyse data for migration
  • Identify test scenarios / test cases for systems / integration testing with the vendor & business
  • Support the Project RAID - Risk, Assumptions, Issues & Dependency logs through weekly reviews & team meetings
  • Work closely with Global HR Operations to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time during Go Live and Post implementation support
  • Participate in workshops to provide expertise around reporting, data extraction, train & provide support to stakeholders.
  • Work closely with internal & virtual teams globally to gather & transform the organizational & employee data to streamline Payroll & define the global requirements
  • Co-ordinate with Internal Audit, HR & Payroll functional leads to ensure knowledge sharing and consistency of approach to new world controls, processes, reporting & reconciliations where possible
  • Help to create processes to monitor / police the adherence of data standards (data governance).
  • Work closely with other teams on projects, including Workday Data and Integration Consultants, to ensure seamless collaboration between the various touchpoints of applications.

What you'll need:

  • Minimum 5 years broad experience of end to end lifecycle India Payroll implementations across complex organisations (essential)
  • Organised and structured ways of working
  • Experience of India Time & attendance
  • Business analysis and requirements gathering skills.
  • Experience with Workday and multiple India Payroll systems
  • Experience of Payment funding and penny testing
  • Strong data migration skills including the planning and execution of data migration and knowledge of mandatory and optional country field requirements
  • Ability to document the process steps & requirements for new ways of working
  • Strong team player and ways of working
  • Ability to understand the business requirements and user needs, and translate them into operational requirements
  • Ability to prioritise workload and execute tasks independently, providing timely follow-up and resolution
  • Excellent attention to detail with a tendency to document information and understanding of PMO
  • You should be a self-starter
  • Mature, credible, and comfortable in dealing with all levels of roles
  • To be encouraged by a challenge

  • A strong presenter with excellent English & local language language verbal and written Communication skills.
  • Ability to travel if the project assignment requires it (under typical circumstances).
