Import Manager Customs Clearance

In this role, you will be responsible for managing customs clearance, logistics coordination, customer relationships, operational efficiency, compliance management, and team leadership. - **Customs Clearance Management:** - Coordinate with customs brokers to ensure smooth customs clearance of import shipments. - Monitor customs regulations for compliance with import documentation and procedures. - Resolve customs issues and optimize import tariffs and duty calculations. - **Logistics Coordination:** - Manage import shipment schedules and coordinate transportation from port of entry to destination. - Monitor shipment status and coordinate with warehouse providers for storage and delivery of goods. - **Customer Relationship Management:** - Serve as the primary contact for clients regarding their import shipments. - Negotiate rates with clients and customize import solutions based on their requirements. - **Operational Efficiency:** - Develop strategies to streamline import operations and minimize delays and costs. - Analyze data to identify areas for process improvement and monitor team performance. - **Compliance Management:** - Stay updated on international trade regulations and conduct compliance audits regularly. - Ensure compliance with all relevant import laws and standards. - **Team Leadership:** - Supervise a team of import specialists, assign tasks, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. - Provide coaching and support to ensure operational excellence. **Required Skills and Qualifications:** - Deep understanding of international trade regulations and customs procedures. - Proven experience in import operations within a freight forwarding company. - Strong logistics knowledge, communication skills, and analytical abilities. - Proficiency in import documentation, customs clearance procedures, and leadership skills. - Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and identify cost optimization opportunities.
