Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Documentation: Preparing and processing import documents such as commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading (or airway bills), certificates of origin, and other relevant paperwork. Compliance: Ensuring all import documentation adheres to customs regulations, international trade laws, and company policies. Coordination: Liaising with customs brokers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth and timely clearance of goods. Tracking: Monitoring shipments, tracking import timelines, and proactively addressing any potential delays or issues. Communication: Maintaining clear and consistent communication with internal teams, clients, and external partners regarding shipment status and documentation requirements. Problem-solving: Addressing any discrepancies, errors, or challenges related to import documentation and customs clearance. Record-keeping: Maintaining accurate records of import activities and preparing reports for management. Negotiation: Negotiating rates and terms with suppliers, freight forwarders, and other service providers.
