About the role:
IBDP facilitators are educators who specialize in delivering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme to students, focusing on holistic education, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary learning.
What you will be doing:
- Teach subject-specific content as per the IBDP framework, including core areas (Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay, and Creativity, Activity, Service - CAS).
- Develop students' research, inquiry, and analytical skills.
- Design formative and summative assessments aligned with IB standards.
- Guide students in coursework, Internal Assessments (IAs), and preparation for External Assessments.
- Provide detailed feedback and maintain records of student progress.
- Actively support the CAS programme, encouraging students to participate in service-learning projects and extracurricular activities.
- Guide students in preparing the Extended Essay, fostering research and writing skills.
- Stay updated with IB curriculum guidelines, assessment criteria, and pedagogy.
- Use a conceptual and inquiry-based approach to teaching and learning.
- Act as an academic advisor for IBDP students, ensuring their social-emotional and academic well-being.
- Support students in developing their IB Learner Profile attributes.
- Work with colleagues across disciplines to ensure an interdisciplinary approach.
- Collaborate with the IBDP Coordinator to align teaching with programme requirements.
- Participate in IB-recognized training workshops and conferences.
- Contribute to the school's self-study or external review processes.
- Utilize tools such as Manage Bac and other IB platforms to streamline documentation.
- Leverage digital resources for a global perspective on subject content.
Who we are looking for:
Qualifications & Requirements
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in the relevant subject.Teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, IB-trained workshops, or equivalent).
Position Requirements
Previous experience teaching in the IBDP programme is preferred.In-depth understanding of IB philosophy and teaching methodology.Excellent research and inquiry-based teaching skills.Strong mentoring and guidance skills.Proficiency in global and intercultural approaches to education.
