Job Description – HVAC Engineer

Position: HVAC Engineer
Location: Chennai

Key Responsibilities

• HVAC Low-Side Works:
• Supervise duct fabrication, installation, and insulation as per approved drawings and project specifications.
• Ensure proper alignment, sealing, and insulation quality for system efficiency.
• Air Terminals Installation:
• Oversee installation of diffusers, grilles, dampers, and air terminals ensuring proper placement and airflow balance.
• Support in air balancing and testing during commissioning.
• VRF System Installation:
• Supervise indoor and outdoor unit installation, refrigerant piping, and control cabling.
• Ensure proper vacuuming, leak testing, and system performance verification as per standards.
• Labour Management:
• Plan and allocate daily manpower effectively.
• Monitor productivity, discipline, and adherence to safety procedures at site.
• Material Management:
• Track and control materials and tools inventory.
• Coordinate with procurement for timely material availability and minimize wastage.
• Site Supervision & Safety Compliance:
• Oversee all HVAC site activities ensuring safety, quality, and timely execution.
• Conduct toolbox talks and ensure compliance with PPE and safety standards.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, layouts, and standards.
• Knowledge of VRF/VRV, ductable, and chilled water systems.
• Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
• Focus on quality control, safety, and schedule adherence.

Experience

• 2–4 years of experience in HVAC installation and site supervision in commercial or industrial projects.
