Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented HVAC Design Engineer to join our MEP team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing HVAC systems for a wide range of building projects, ensuring they meet all regulatory and client specifications while focusing on energy efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness. Key Responsibilities: Design HVAC systems for commercial, residential, and industrial buildings in accordance with international and local standards (e.g., ASHRAE, SMACNA, ISHRAE, etc.). Perform heat load calculations using software such as HAP, Carrier E20, or Trace 700. Develop HVAC layouts, duct sizing, pipe sizing, equipment selection, and technical specifications using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools. Collaborate with other MEP disciplines to ensure coordinated and clash-free designs. Review and approve mechanical equipment submittals and shop drawings. Prepare BOQs (Bill of Quantities) and technical specifications for tenders. Conduct site visits to verify installation compliance and provide engineering support during construction. Ensure HVAC designs adhere to applicable codes, standards, and project requirements. Participate in design review meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. [5+] years of experience in HVAC design within the MEP industry. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, HAP, Trace 700, and MS Office. Strong understanding of HVAC systems, ventilation, air conditioning, chilled water systems, VRF/VRV systems, etc. Knowledge of local and international HVAC codes and standards (ASHRAE, ISHRAE, NBC, etc.). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in sustainable design/LEED projects. Familiarity with BIM workflows. Certification from recognized bodies (e.g., LEED, PMP, ASHRAE Membership) is a plus.
