Role & responsibilities

Human Resource (HR) Manager Roles and Responsibilities

Key Roles:

  • Act as a strategic partner to management by aligning HR strategies with organizational goals.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employees on HR-related matters.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and best HR practices.
  • Drive employee engagement, retention, and professional development.

Responsibilities:

  1. Recruitment & Staffing

    • Plan and execute end-to-end recruitment processes (sourcing, screening, interviewing, onboarding).
    • Develop workforce planning strategies in line with business needs.
    • Coordinate with department heads to fulfill staffing requirements.
  2. Employee Relations

    • Address employee queries, grievances, and disciplinary issues in a timely and professional manner.
    • Foster a positive work environment through employee engagement initiatives.
    • Mediate conflict resolution between staff and management.
  3. Performance Management

    • Implement appraisal systems, goal-setting, and performance reviews.
    • Support managers in identifying training and development needs.
    • Drive continuous improvement in productivity and employee performance.
  4. Policy & Compliance

    • Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures.
    • Ensure compliance with statutory laws (labor laws, PF, ESI, gratuity, etc.).
    • Maintain proper documentation and records for audits and inspections.
  5. Training & Development

    • Organize orientation and induction programs for new hires.
    • Design and implement training programs to enhance employee skills.
    • Monitor career development and succession planning.
  6. Compensation & Benefits

    • Oversee payroll processing and timely salary disbursement.
    • Manage employee benefits such as leave, insurance, and retirement plans.
    • Conduct salary benchmarking and recommend compensation adjustments.
  7. HR Operations & Administration

    • Maintain employee records and HR databases accurately.
    • Generate HR reports and analytics for management review.
    • Support HR technology implementation and automation.
  8. Strategic HR Initiatives

    • Lead organizational culture-building activities.
    • Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs.
    • Support change management and organizational development.
