Job Description

Role & responsibilities

1. HR Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure plant-level compliance with all applicable labor laws (Factories Act, ESI, PF, etc.).
  • Maintain statutory records and coordinate with government authorities for inspections and audits.
  • Drive HR SOPs and ensure internal policy adherence across departments.

2. Liaisoning & Statutory Interface

  • Act as the primary liaison with local government departments, labor offices, ESI, PF authorities, pollution control board, factories inspectorate, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Manage licenses, approvals, and renewals related to plant operations (e.g., factory license, labor license, etc.).
  • Build strong relationships with local authorities, police, and district administration to ensure smooth operations.
  • Handle labor contractor compliance and third-party manpower audits in coordination with external agencies.

3. Employee Relations & Industrial Harmony

  • Maintain cordial and constructive relations with employees, unions (if applicable), and contract workforce.
  • Proactively manage grievance redressal, disciplinary actions, and domestic inquiries in accordance with legal requirements.
  • Drive employee engagement programs to enhance morale and reduce attrition.

4. Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Lead hiring for blue-collar and staff-level roles to meet production requirements.
  • Conduct orientation and onboarding to integrate new hires into the plant environment effectively.

5. Training & Development

  • Identify skill gaps and organize training programs in collaboration with L&D and departmental heads.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of training initiatives and maintain training MIS.

6. Payroll, Attendance & MIS

  • Monitor daily attendance, shift scheduling, and time management systems.
  • Coordinate with payroll team to ensure accurate salary processing and statutory deductions.
  • Maintain HR dashboards and timely HR reporting to corporate HR and plant management.

7. Health, Safety, and Welfare

  • Ensure compliance with plant health, safety, and welfare requirements.
  • Support implementation of EHS programs in collaboration with the EHS Officer/Manager.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of canteens, restrooms, creche (if applicable), and other welfare amenities.

Preferred candidate profile

MBA in HR is Mandatory

Candidate must have exposure from Plant / Factory
