Job Description

  • To work closely with HOD and act as the second in line of the department.
  • To go through the previous shift/day log message and collect the information.
  • To check whether staff is being allotted shift wise per the work allocation register.
  • To arrange for manpower if there is deficiency in any particular area.
  • To check the grooming and hygiene of the housekeeper on a daily basis.
  • To ensure occupancy status is taken twice daily and sign obtained from Front office and HOD-HK.
  • To take a general round and check whether entire outer area/corridors are cleaned and maintained.
  • To check all the vacant rooms/bed.
  • To go for rounds with the Department Head and visit patients on a random basis to check the comfort level of the patients.
  • While on rounds note down the points given by the Department Head and complete it immediately with the help of the area supervisors.
  • To attend to the complaint calls and ensure patient is comfortable during their stay.
  • Co-ordinate with other departments for smooth functioning.
  • Preparing duty chart pertaining Housekeeping Staff.
  • Preparing monthly report. To follow the weekly and monthly work schedule strictly and submit a report to the Department Head.
  • To check whether the Control Desk functions properly.
  • To take a list of delay in service calls, discharge rooms on daily basis and prepare a monthly
  • report (graph) to improve the quality.
  • To check all the registers and checklist before keeping for Department Heads Signature.
  • To check the entire contractors bill.
  • Arranging for meeting /conference.
  • To take inventory on capital items every quarterly
  • Coordinating with Department Head at the time of decoration.
  • To ensure AMC is maintained for all the machines.
  • To ensure all the trolleys are checked every week by the maintenance department by maintaining a checklist.
  • To ensure bio-medical clearance is being done as per the schedule.
  • To coordinate with the outside contractor in the waste on a daily basis.
  • To inspect whether the bio-medical waste out is been destroyed as pre the protocol along with Department Head.
  • To track the vehicle and ensure the contract staff follows infection control/safety precautions.
  • To prepare monthly/yearly report of bio-medical waste generated.
  • To take training classes to the supervisors/housekeepers as per the schedule
  • To make sure the staff implements and does their work according to the training give to them.
  • To ensure Infection Control & safety practices are followed strictly.
  • To inform the higher authorities immediately in case of any major issues.
  • To adhere to the rules and regulations of the company and time to time changes.
  • To conduct periodic audit of Linen, Housekeeping supplies & HK Pantries in each area and submit a report to Head of the Deaprtment.
