Housekeeping Attendant

Department: Housekeeping
Reporting To: Housekeeping Supervisor / Executive Housekeeper

Job Purpose

To maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and overall presentation of guest rooms and public areas, ensuring a comfortable and pleasant stay for guests in accordance with hotel standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Room Cleaning

• Clean and service guest rooms as per daily schedules and hotel SOPs
• Make beds, change linens, and replace towels and amenities
• Replenish guest supplies and minibar items (if applicable)
• Report lost & found items, maintenance issues, and damages immediately

Public Area Maintenance

• Clean and maintain public areas such as lobbies, corridors, elevators, restrooms, and staff areas
• Ensure proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment

Hygiene & Safety

• Follow housekeeping standards, hygiene practices, and safety procedures
• Adhere to infection control and sanitation guidelines
• Maintain personal grooming and uniform standards

Guest Interaction

• Greet guests politely and respond to requests promptly
• Handle guest complaints professionally and escalate when required

Teamwork & Reporting

• Coordinate with front office and maintenance departments
• Assist in deep cleaning and special cleaning tasks
• Attend briefings and training sessions as scheduled

Skills & Competencies

• Attention to detail
• Time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good physical stamina
• Basic communication skills

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum qualification: 10th / Higher Secondary preferred
• Experience in hotel housekeeping is an advantage (freshers may apply)

Working Conditions

• Shift-based duty, including weekends and holidays
• Physically demanding role involving standing, bending, and lifting
