1. Position Overview
The Girls Hostel Warden is responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning, safety, discipline, and well-being of all residents. The warden acts as a caretaker, mentor, and administrator, maintaining a secure and supportive environment within the hostel.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Hostel Administration
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the girls hostel.
- Maintain records of hostel occupancy, attendance, leave requests, and discipline reports.
- Allocate rooms as per hostel policy and ensure proper maintenance of living spaces.
- Coordinate with maintenance, housekeeping, and security teams for cleanliness, repairs, and general upkeep.
- Ensure compliance with all hostel rules and institutional policies.
B. Student Welfare & Discipline
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all girl residents.
- Enforce hostel rules firmly but fairly.
- Handle conflicts, grievances, and counselling needs of residents with sensitivity.
- Maintain a healthy, respectful, and inclusive environment.
- Conduct periodic checks of rooms and facilities.
C. Safety & Security
- Monitor entry/exit of residents and ensure proper gate register/biometric usage.
- Oversee security staff assigned to the hostel.
- Take necessary actions during emergencies (medical, fire, discipline issues).
- Conduct night rounds and ensure presence in the hostel during critical hours.
D. Communication & Coordination
- Liaise with parents/guardians regarding student concerns, discipline issues, and emergencies.
- Coordinate with college administration for events, meetings, and welfare initiatives.
- Report daily and weekly summaries to the supervisor.
E. Events & Activities
- Organize orientation programs for new students.
- Arrange hostel events, cultural activities, and awareness programs (safety, hygiene, self-defense, etc.).
- Promote a positive hostel culture with student participation.
3. Qualification & Experience
- Graduate degree required (preferably in Education, Social Work, Psychology, Management, or related fields).
- Prior experience in hostel management, student welfare, or counseling preferred.
- Female candidates only (for Girls Hostel).
- Basic computer knowledge (MS Office, email, reporting).

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle young adults with patience and empathy.
- Good judgment and ability to manage conflicts.

Role & responsibilities
5. Working Conditions
- Residential position preferred; warden must stay inside the hostel premises.
- On-call duty during emergencies and after regular hours.
- Must be available during weekends/holidays if required.
