A driver's job involves safely transporting people or goods using navigation, adhering to traffic laws, performing vehicle checks (fuel, oil, cleanliness), and maintaining records, with key responsibilities including punctuality, customer interaction, route planning, and potentially loading/unloading, requiring a valid license and good time management. Duties vary from delivery (packages, food) to passenger transport (taxis, private hire, buses), but core functions focus on efficient, safe movement between locations, adapting to traffic, and ensuring vehicle readiness. Core Responsibilities Safe Transport: Operate vehicles adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Route Planning: Use GPS/navigation to find optimal routes, adjusting for traffic, construction, or weather. Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily checks (fuel, tires, fluids) and arrange repairs; keep the vehicle clean. Timeliness: Arrive at destinations on schedule. Documentation: Maintain logs for mileage, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance. Customer Service: Interact professionally with clients, assist with loading/unloading, and handle payments. Key Skills & Qualifications Valid Driver's License (appropriate for vehicle type). Defensive Driving & Navigation Skills. Time Management & Organization. Communication Skills (for passengers/dispatch). Physical Stamina (for loading/unloading).
