Head/GM Logistics and Supply Chain Management

Job Summary:

Head/GM - Logistics and Warehouse for the Manufacturing/FMCG industry will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end logistics, including inbound and outbound transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution. The role requires ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery of products, maintaining inventory accuracy, optimizing warehouse operations, and ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards. The Head/GM - Logistics and Warehouse will lead a team of logistics professionals, implement industry best practices, and drive continuous improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Logistics Management:

• Develop and implement logistics strategies tailored to the Manufacturing/FMCG industry.
• Design efficient logistics and distribution networks to ensure timely delivery of products.

• Team Leadership and Development:

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of logistics professionals, including warehouse managers, fleet supervisors, and inventory controllers.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

• Operational Management:

• Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, including raw material handling and finished goods distribution.
• Manage warehouse operations, ensuring optimal space utilization, safety, and cleanliness.
• Monitor stock levels and ensure inventory accuracy using industry-standard practices.

• Vendor and Supplier Management:

• Develop and maintain relationships with third-party logistics providers, transport companies, and suppliers.
• Negotiate contracts, monitor vendor performance, and ensure compliance with SLAs.

• Cost Control and Budget Management:

• Develop and manage the logistics budget, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising service quality.
• Implement cost-saving initiatives in transportation, warehousing, and packaging.

• Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations (FSSAI, GMP for FMCG, etc.) and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records for audits and quality checks.

• Technology and Systems Management:

• Implement and optimize logistics management systems to enhance visibility and efficiency.
• Ensure real-time tracking of shipments and accurate data management.

• Customer Satisfaction:

• Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to ensure on-time delivery of products.
• Proactively address customer complaints related to logistics.

• Continuous Improvement:

• Identify areas for process enhancements and implement best practices.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and drive a culture of excellence.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Master's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 14 years of experience in logistics, with at least 5 years in a Senior Manager/Head role within the Manufacturing/FMCG sector.
• Strong knowledge of industry-specific regulations (FSSAI, GMP, etc.) and logistics management software (WMS, TMS, ERP).
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
