Reporting to- DIRECTOR-OPERATIONS

Qualification- B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering (mandatory). M.E./M.Tech / MBA (preferred). PMP / RICS / NICMAR certification is an added advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 20 years of experience in the construction industry.

• Proven track record of managing multiple residential and commercial projects (high-rise, townships, commercial buildings, mixed-use developments).

• Experience working with reputed general contracting or EPC companies.

Position Overview

The Vertical Head will be responsible for leading and managing the entire Residential & Commercial business vertical, ensuring seamless execution, profitability, client satisfaction, and adherence to quality, safety, and compliance standards. The role demands strong leadership, multi-project management experience, stakeholder management, and strategic decision-making capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic & Operational Leadership

• Drive overall strategy, planning, and execution for residential and commercial construction projects.

• Identify new business opportunities, support business development, and contribute to bidding/estimations.

• Ensure financial targets, profitability, and growth objectives for the vertical.

2. Project Management & Execution

• Oversee multiple project sites simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery as per scope, budget, and quality standards.

• Monitor project schedules, cost plans, procurement timelines, and resource allocation.

• Ensure strict adherence to construction methodologies, technical specifications, and statutory requirements.

3. Client & Stakeholder Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, architects, and government bodies.

• Handle escalations, negotiate critical decisions, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

• Support pre-construction and post-construction coordination activities.

4. Operations, Quality & Safety

• Ensure implementation of QMS, HSE standards, and company policies across all projects.

• Conduct periodic site audits to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and productivity benchmarks.

• Drive a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in construction processes.

5. Team Leadership & Development

• Lead project managers, engineers, planning, and commercial teams under the vertical.

• Drive capability building, technical upskilling, and performance excellence across teams.

• Mentor cross-functional teams and ensure effective communication and collaboration.

6. Contracts, Commercials & Risk Management

• Oversee contracts, billing, claim management, and subcontractor performance.

• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project and financial sustainability.

• Approve variation orders, cost deviations, and critical procurement decisions.

7. Reporting & MIS

• Provide timely progress reports, dashboards, and management updates.

• Ensure accurate project documentation, compliance reports, and audit deliverables.

• Track KPIs, productivity metrics, and resource performance.
