Transmission & Distribution (T&D) vertical
Key Responsibilities
1. Department Leadership
- Lead, supervise, and coordinate all activities across
Sales, Production, and Quality
for the T&D division. - Develop departmental strategies, annual operating plans, and performance KPIs.
- Build and mentor a high-performing cross-functional team.
2. Sales & Business Development
- Oversee and drive T&D sales targets across regions.
- Identify new business opportunities with utilities, EPC contractors, PSUs, government bodies, and private players.
- Lead key account management and high-value negotiations.
- Conduct market mapping, competitor analysis, and pricing strategies.
- Guide preparation of quotes, tenders, technical submissions, and commercial proposals.
- Ensure timely follow-up on orders, payments, and customer service.
3. Production Management
- Oversee the complete production process for T&D products (e.g., conductors, extrusions for T&D applications).
- Ensure production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet customer timelines.
- Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure optimal machine uptime.
- Implement lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Track key production metrics such as output, efficiency, material utilization, and downtime.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety norms and compliance standards.
4. Quality Control & Assurance
- Lead the Quality function to ensure product meets national and international standards (IS/IEC/ASTM or other relevant standards).
- Implement and maintain robust quality systems and SOPs across the department.
- Oversee inspections, testing protocols, and quality documentation.
- Drive root-cause analysis for failures, customer complaints, and production rejections.
- Ensure audit preparedness and compliance with regulatory and certification requirements.
5. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with R&D, procurement, logistics, and finance to ensure seamless execution.
- Coordinate with the design & engineering team for technical clarifications.
- Ensure timely communication of production status to sales and customers.
- Lead regular review meetings with departmental teams and senior management.
6. Strategic Planning & Execution
- Develop and implement long-term T&D division strategy.
- Monitor industry trends, technology advancements, and competitor activities.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives across production and supply chain.
- Plan capacity enhancement, new product introduction, and technology upgrades.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education
- B.Tech / B.E. Electrical or Mechanical (preferred).
- MBA or Post-Graduate degree is an added advantage.
Experience
10-15 years
of experience in Transmission & Distribution
, Power Sector, Conductors, Hardware Fittings, Cable Components, or related engineering products.- Minimum
5 years
in a senior leadership role overseeing multiple functions (Sales, Production, Quality).
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of T&D products, manufacturing processes, quality standards, and applications.
- Understanding of utility procurement, tendering processes, and compliance norms.
- Expertise in interpreting technical drawings, design specifications, and testing procedures.
- Proficiency in production planning, process optimization, and quality systems.
Leadership & Soft Skills
- Strong team leadership and decision-making capability.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer-handling skills.
- Analytical mindset with strong command over MIS, reporting, and data-driven decision-making.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage large-scale operations.
Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
