Position Overview

Business Development Manager

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the

    sales and business development team

    to meet defined sales targets.
  • Plan and monitor sales activities, ensuring timely communication, coordination, and reporting.
  • Build a high-performance, customer-focused sales culture within the team.

Business Development & Client Relationship Management

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities with

    utilities, EPCs, OEMs, and industrial clients

    in the T&D domain.
  • Strengthen relationships with existing customers to ensure repeat business and long-term partnerships.
  • Conduct client meetings, presentations, and negotiations to promote the company’s product portfolio.

Offer Management & Order Finalization

  • Ensure

    timely preparation and submission of accurate and competitive techno-commercial offers

    to clients.
  • Review all offers for technical and commercial completeness before submission.
  • Follow up on submitted proposals and

    pursue them diligently to logical closure

    —order award or feedback capture.
  • Liaise with

    engineering, commercial, and production teams

    for clarifications, costing, and delivery coordination.

Market Analysis & Strategy

  • Monitor

    market trends, competitor activity, pricing, and upcoming projects

    in the T&D sector.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic plans for market expansion and product positioning.
  • Represent the company at

    industry exhibitions, trade fairs, and conferences

    to enhance visibility.

Reporting & Coordination

  • Prepare and present

    sales reports, forecasts, and performance reviews

    for management.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure seamless order execution and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

    (mandatory).
  • MBA in Marketing / Business Management

    preferred.
  • 8–12 years of experience

    in Sales / Business Development within the

    Electrical Equipment Manufacturing Industry

    .
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Transmission & Distribution (T&D) sector

    , dealing with products such as Disconnectors, Isolators, or similar switchgear equipment.
  • Proven record of leading a sales team and achieving business targets.
  • Strong knowledge of

    technical specifications, tendering procedures, and commercial terms

    .
  • Excellent

    communication, presentation, and negotiation

    skills.
  • Proficiency in

    MS Office, CRM tools, and tender portals

    .
  • Willingness to travel across India for business development and client meetings.
