Head of Sales & Marketing

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Marketing Leadership

  • Lead and mentor Sales & Marketing team.
  • Promote and sell products and services to prospective and existing customers.
  • Build, manage, and adhere to annual sales and marketing budgets.
  • Establish and maintain strong, professional relationships with key customer stakeholders.

Customer Engagement & Opportunity Development

  • Identify operational issues in customer plants and propose effective product or process improvement recommendations.
  • Conduct customer visits and meetings to understand processes, pain areas, and upcoming requirements.
  • Develop new business opportunities through technical application insights and industry knowledge.
  • Conduct customer trials in coordination with the technical support team and provide feedback for new product development.

Internal Coordination

  • Collaborate with production plants to ensure order processing, on-time delivery, and shipment completion.
  • Prepare customer quotations including cost/sales/margin analysis.
  • Ensure timely completion of internal reports, ISO documentation, and statutory compliance.
  • Coordinate regularly with internal functions such as Purchasing, Production, Product Development, Accounts, Logistics, and Field Services.

Travel

  • Frequent travel outside the local area (PAN India travel required).

  • Industry Associations and Trade Fairs

Required Profile

Educational Qualification

  • Degree in Metallurgy or an equivalent technical discipline (preferred).

Experience

  • 10 to 15 years

    of experience in the steel/melting industry or related technical consumables segment.
  • Strong technical understanding of steel melting processes and metallurgical applications.
  • Proven experience in B2B marketing and sales of direct consumables.
  • Strong selling, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent computer literacy and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively and work in mill/plant environments.
