Head - R&D (Compounding PCTR)

Role & responsibilities

• Lead the complete research, development, and innovation strategy for precured tread rubber and related rubber composite products. Directing compound development, improving product performance and enhancing process efficiency.
• Lead and supervise the R&D team, managing laboratories, driving new product development, collaborating with production and quality departments, and representing the company in technical discussions with customers, suppliers, and industry bodies.
• Define and execute the companys R&D roadmap for precured tread rubber, rubber composites, and future product lines.
• Ensure efficient utilization of lab equipment (RPA, MDR, Mooney, Tensile testing, Abrasion testing, TGA, DMA, etc.). Approve the testing protocols, data interpretation, field validation, and formulation trials.
• Provide technical leadership during customer audits, product demonstrations, and complaint investigations.
• Ensure R&D protocols align with ISO standards, BIS requirements, and regulatory norms.
• Deep technical knowledge of rubber chemistry, polymer science, compounding, and tread rubber technology.

Preferred candidate profile

Ideal Candidate: -

• M.Tech / B.Tech in Rubber Technology, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or Material Science

  . Certifications or training in

  advanced compounds, polymer analytics, or material characterization will be an advantage.

• Minimum

  15 – 18 years of total experience in rubber compounding and at least 10 years of experience preferably in precured tread rubber R&D, tire re-treading materials, or tire industry.

• Prior experience with companies in the

  precured tread rubber segment

  will definitely be an added advantage
• Should have experience leading a team of R&D professionals
• Should have deep technical knowledge of

  rubber chemistry, polymer science, compounding, and tread rubber technology.

• Should have proven experience in precured tread rubber development and benchmarking against industry leaders.

• Should be ready to work out of Chennai Location

• Experience and good exposure to

  ISO, IATF and other relevant standards.

• Candidate presently working or have worked in the recent past with industry leaders – PCTR will have an added advantage.
