Job Description

Job Purpose -

To provide and lead the strategic direction for the Pre-Primary School in line with the whole school vision and development plan, and to ensure that the standards of teaching and learning are achieved in all areas of school life within the Pre-Primary School.


Key Role -

  1. Leading and developing teaching and learning
  2. Leading, managing and developing the curriculum delivered
  3. Using relevant assessment information to set targets and accelerate progress
  4. Coaching, mentoring and developing class teachers


Responsibilities -

  • Lead the development of learning

    and teaching practices in Pre-Primary through a coaching model to ensure consistently high quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop staff understanding

    and assessment of the curriculum
  • Track

    student progress

    accurately.
  • To

    identify and lead quality professional development

    for teachers and team teachers.
  • Responsible for planning the calendar

    in the classes within her area of work.
  • Establish successful indicators of teaching and learning

    in Pre-Primary school.
  • To develop a culture of excellence

    based on continual reflection and improvement.
  • To work closely with the Principal and leadership team to

    establish the strategic direction

    for the school with a focus on quality learning & teaching
  • To develop and

    maintain excellent partnerships with parents

    and community members.
  • Support student enrollment process

    and take decisions in student admission and academic assessment.
  • Plays important part in

    teacher’s/staff recruitment

    and their

    performance evaluation

    .
  • Plans and specifies methods/formats for the

    assessment of student's

    written work and home assignment and ensures that the assessment and corrections are carried out timely and effectively.
  • Ensures that the staffroom and classroom decorum is maintained by

    conducting regular checks

    and encourages healthy exchange of creative and constructive ideas and innovative teaching methods in classes.
  • Ensures that school rules are uniformly observed

    and that student discipline is appropriate and in accordance with the code of conduct of the school.
  • Maintains regular interaction and counseling sessions

    with students and parents along with the concerned teachers regarding both academic and non-academic issues
  • Oversees

    co-ordination of extracurricular activities

    , and annual programs
  • Keeps track of lesson plan/curriculum development

    among the teachers while ensuring that teachers are upgrading themselves as far as their subject matter is concerned.
  • Keeps track of the teacher's punctuality

    and decides on the leave to be given to the teachers to enable efficient functioning of classes.
  • Should have an understanding of the policies and procedures

    around welfare, behavior and safeguarding is desirable
