Role Overview

Head of Marketplaces (Global)

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Leadership

• Define and execute a global marketplace growth strategy
• Own full P&L across all marketplace channels
• Build, lead, and mentor high-performing marketplace teams
• Set KPIs, targets, and performance benchmarks

Marketplace Operations

• Manage end-to-end operations across:
• Amazon (Global)
• eBay
• Shopify (D2C)
• TikTok Shop
• Walmart
• European marketplaces (e.g. Otto, Kaufland, Cdiscount, Allegro, etc.)
• Ensure listing quality, pricing accuracy, promotions, and compliance
• Handle platform escalations, suspensions, claims, and disputes

Sales Growth & Performance

• Drive revenue growth, profitability, and market expansion
• Analyse dashboards, reports, and marketplace data to improve ROI
• Identify new opportunities across regions, categories, and platforms

Advertising & Marketing

• Oversee marketplace advertising (Amazon Ads, TikTok Ads, Walmart Ads, eBay Promotions, Shopify tools)
• Optimise ad spend, keywords, creatives, and campaign performance
• Collaborate with Marketing and Design teams on brand consistency

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Customer Service, and Sourcing teams
• Ensure inventory planning, fulfilment efficiency, and customer satisfaction
• Provide regular performance updates to senior leadership

Skills & Experience

Experience

• 10–15+ years in e-commerce / marketplace leadership roles
• Proven experience managing large-scale global marketplace operations
• Strong background in FMCG, consumer electronics, D2C, or e-commerce brands

Skills

• Strong commercial and P&L management capability
• Deep understanding of marketplace algorithms, policies, and growth levers
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
