Head of Engineering Strategy & Master Planning, India

As a Data Center Engineering Lead at Digital Edge, you will play a crucial role in designing and coordinating engineering activities for the construction of hyperscale/enterprise data centers. Reporting to the Head of Design & Engineering, India, you will ensure project milestones are met while maintaining quality and compliance standards at our site location in Kalwa Dighe. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Engineering Design:** - Undertake detailed design and engineering activities for hyperscale/enterprise data center builds. - Design master layout, civil and interior work, mechanical systems, HVAC, integrated building management systems, fire and security systems, DCiM, PUE, and TCO analysis. - **Customer Interactions:** - Engage with customers to understand their business requirements and tailor data center designs accordingly. - Present designs to customers and incorporate their feedback for implementation. - **Quality Assurance:** - Conduct comprehensive reviews of data center designs to ensure compliance with Digital Edge's standards, safety, and regulatory requirements. - **Risk Management:** - Identify potential risks related to data center design elements and develop proactive mitigation strategies. - **Consultant and Vendor Collaboration:** - Collaborate with external parties to deliver successful designs, select suitable components, and ensure compatibility for construction and operations. - Communicate design concepts, progress, and challenges effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders. - **Data Center Infrastructure Design:** - Work with cross-functional teams to design data center solutions aligned with organizational requirements, including capacity planning, redundancy, power, cooling, and space utilization. - **Stakeholder Management:** - Support DEI procurement team during the tender process. - Assist site resources with design-related RFIs and ensure understanding of data center design. - Uphold compliance with workplace health & safety, information security, environmental, quality, and energy management systems, and relevant legal and regulatory requirements. **Qualification Required:** - Bachelor's/Diploma degree in Engineering. - Minimum 15 years of professional experience in hyperscale data center design. - Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills. - Proficiency in data center architectural features, EHV systems, and knowledge of statutory/regulatory norms. - Experience with automated design software like BIM360 or Autodesk Construction Cloud.
