Head of Design

Role Overview: As the NPD Design Head for Tool & Die at the company, you will lead the New Product Development design team. Your primary responsibility will be to spearhead the design and development of high-precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures to support product innovation, prototyping, and manufacturing excellence. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and manage the NPD Tool & Die design team through all stages from concept to production. - Coordinate with cross-functional teams (R&D, production, QA, procurement) to transform product concepts into manufacturable designs. - Develop 3D/2D CAD models and technical drawings utilizing software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Simulation. - Review and approve tool and die designs to ensure alignment with product specifications, cost targets, and timelines. - Supervise prototype fabrication, testing, validation, and iteration of tools and dies. - Apply DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles consistently. - Establish and standardize best practices for design, testing, and documentation. - Address tooling issues by implementing design enhancements for improved reliability and performance. - Keep abreast of industry advancements in die-making technology, materials, and design trends. - Lead innovation and continuous improvement initiatives in tooling development. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. - Demonstrated experience in tool and die design, with a preference for experience in a leadership capacity. - Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Simulation. - Strong understanding of DFM and DFA principles. - Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.,
