Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the end-to-end New Product Development (NPD) activities for steel castings.
Plan, coordinate, and control NPD projects from enquiry stage to successful commercialization.
Review customer drawings, specifications, and technical requirements for feasibility and manufacturability.
Develop casting methods, gating & risering systems, and process layouts to achieve quality and cost targets.
Oversee moulding, core shop, pattern shop, and methoding activities related to new products.
Ensure timely development, modification, and approval of patterns, core boxes, and fixtures.
Optimize moulding and core-making processes for new products to ensure defect-free castings.
Coordinate closely with production, quality, melting, fettling, and finishing teams for smooth trial runs.
Monitor and analyze trial results; drive corrective and preventive actions for process stabilization.
Ensure compliance with customer, statutory, and internal quality requirements during NPD.
Drive continuous improvement in yield, productivity, and cost reduction for new products.
Lead failure analysis and root cause analysis for NPD-related rejections and delays.
Liaise with customers for technical discussions, trials, approvals, and feedback.
Prepare and present NPD status reports, timelines, and cost analyses to management.
Develop and mentor the NPD, methoding, and engineering teams.
Ensure adherence to safety, housekeeping, and environmental norms in all NPD activities.
Support overall foundry production by providing technical guidance and process improvements.
