Role & responsibilities We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pattern and Method Engineer who can independently handle casting development from concept to production. The candidate must have a deep understanding of pattern design, moulding processes, and methoding. Candidates having experience with pump castings such as impeller, casing, volutes, etc is a plus. Key Responsibilities & Roles: Methoding & Design: Develop and design complete casting methoding (gating, risering, chills) for iron and steel castings . Optimize methods to minimize & eliminate all defects like shrinkage, porosity, and misruns. Perform accurate casting weight calculations for cost estimation and pattern development. Pattern Development: Coordinate with pattern makers to develop or modify patterns as per methoding. Inspect patterns and core boxes for dimensional accuracy and compatibility with moulding line. Guide pattern storage, identification, and standardization processes. Moulding & Production Support: Work closely with the moulding department to ensure method implementation on the shop floor . Select suitable moulding processes based on casting requirements. Provide on-site support during pouring and resolve process-related issues. Quality & Process Improvement: Investigate casting defects and work on corrective actions. Conduct root cause analysis of non-conformities and implement process improvements. Maintain method cards, documentation, and casting quality records. CAD: Prepare and analyze 2D/3D models using AutoCAD , CREO , and SolidWorks . Generate accurate layout drawings for pattern and core box manufacturing. Simulation (Plus Point): Work with casting simulation software (e.g., MAGMA, ProCAST) to validate methoding and optimize yield. Cross-functional Coordination: Collaborate with quality, design, and production teams for smooth execution of casting projects. Attend customer technical discussions for development projects and provide methoding insights. Maintain up-to-date documentation for patterns, methods, and simulations. Preferred candidate profile

Key Responsibilities: Lead and oversee the end-to-end steel foundry processes : Melting Induction/Arc Furnace operations, charge mix planning, tapping, pouring. Moulding – Green sand, no-bake, or resin bonded moulds as applicable. Core Making – Cold-box, shell, CO, and other core processes. Pattern & Methoding – Supervise gating/riser design, pattern development, and simulation. Fettling & Cleaning – Ensure proper knockout, shot blasting, grinding, and finishing of castings. Heat Treatment – Normalizing, stress relieving, quenching & tempering, annealing. Quality Assurance – Dimensional inspection, NDT (UT, MPI, RT), metallurgical testing. Plan and execute production schedules to meet delivery and customer requirements. Optimize resource utilization (manpower, material, machine, method). Drive yield improvement, rejection reduction, and cost control . Collaborate with maintenance, design, quality, and supply chain for smooth operations. Implement lean manufacturing, 5S, and modern foundry practices . Lead, train, and motivate engineers, supervisors, and operators to achieve performance excellence. Support new product development through effective methoding and trials. Ensure compliance with safety, statutory, and environmental norms .

Manage and supervise all pattern shop personnel and activities. Plan and schedule pattern making, repairs, and modifications based on production requirements. Coordinate with design, production, and quality teams to ensure dimensional accuracy and pattern integrity. Ensure proper maintenance and storage of existing patterns, including tagging, cataloging, and record-keeping. Review engineering drawings and casting models to guide pattern development. Implement and maintain 5S, safety, and housekeeping standards. Manage inventory of pattern making materials, tools, and equipment. Drive process improvements to reduce lead time and improve pattern quality. Train and mentor pattern makers and apprentices. Collaborate with vendors or internal departments for outsourcing pattern work when required.

In-depth knowledge in Mechanical and worked in any foundry is preferable. Must Have Knowledge and capability to handle of man power and work distribution within the team. Understanding of industry safety standards and capability to implement at plant. Must Have knowledge of Manpower handling Work distribution. Computer Skills including MS Office Word, Excel, Power Point, ERP/SAP Must have experience of Induction and arc furnace; EOT crane; Utility (Air Compressor and pumps as well as cooling tower; Sand System ;pattern shop maintenance. Must have knowledge of spare Management of equipment. Must Have knowledge of Preventive; predictive and scheduled maintenance. data collection, report preparation.

Read engineering drawings & CAD models to build and repair foundry tooling, patterns & core boxes. We are hiring for: Tool Room InCharge / Supervisor Pattern Makers & Helpers Machine Operators Experience with Pattern Making / Tool Room preferred.

Strong knowledge of Base Pattern Making, Grading, Marker, Mini Marker, Average etc. Good knowledge of seams, shrinkage, needle and garments attachment & Folders etc. Must require knowledge of Optitex CAD software. Required Candidate profile should be well versed with cad pattern making softwares Must be having knowledge of Pattern making & fabric cutting - Must be knowing pattern cutting and Grading - Should know sample making
