Job Description for Head - Compliance
Location: Mumbai
The Head of Compliance & Management Representative (MR) will oversee and ensure that the company adheres to all relevant regulatory, legal, quality, environmental, and safety standards.
This role is critical in maintaining high operational standards, ensuring compliance with ISO standards,customer protocolsdriving continuous improvement, and acting as the company's liaison during external audits.
oEnsure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines, including environmental, labor, health, and safety standards.
oMonitoring and Administration of all social Audit and security audits as per customer protocol in a timely manner.
oStay updated on changesinregulationspertaining to labours, Statutory, customer compliance related to customer social auditand communicate implications to management.
oCollaborate with legal advisors to mitigate legal risks.(Case Basis)
oMaintain and oversee the implementation of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and other relevant management systems.
oMonitor and review the effectiveness of the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure it meets all internal and external requirements.(Currently not done)
oLead the internal audit process to ensure compliance with established standards.
oImplement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for continuous improvement.
oAct as the primary point of contact for Customer Compliances, certification bodies, including managing relationships with auditors and overseeing external audits.
oEnsure compliance with customer-specific requirements, standards, and best practices.
oRepresent the organization in matters related toSocial and Securitycompliance during internal and external meetings.
oEnsure effective document control procedures are in place and regularly reviewed to maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all compliance-related activities.
oProvide monthly/quarterly reports on compliance status, non-conformance issues, and audit results to senior management.
oIdentify and assess compliance risks within the organization and develop strategies to mitigate them.
oEnsure compliance with environmental management systems (ISO 14001) and waste management practices.
oPromote and maintain a safe working environment in compliance with OSHA and factory safety standards.
oOversee the compliance of suppliers and with the company's standards and requirements.
oCollaborate with procurement to ensure that all suppliers meet legal and statutorystandards.
oDevelop and deliver compliance training programs to employees across departments to foster a culture of compliance.
oEnsure that employees are aware of and understand the company's commitment to regulatory standards and continuous improvement.
oManage any compliance-related incidents, including investigations, reporting, and corrective actions.
oAct as the key liaison for external authorities during incident resolution.
oAuthority to halt production or processes if non-compliance or safety violations are detected.
oAbility to implement corrective and preventive actions as deemed necessary to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
oAuthority to revise or implement new compliance policies and procedures.
oOversee and manage internal and external audits and ensure the execution of recommendations post-audit.
oFull access to all departments, records, and personnel to perform audits or investigations related to compliance.
oAct as the company's official representative during interactions with external regulatory authorities, auditors, and certification bodies.
oAuthority to propose and manage the compliance department's budget, including expenses for training, audits, certifications, and compliance improvements.
Bachelor's degree inLabor Law / Legal, HR,Engineering, Quality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
15-18+ years of experience in compliance, quality management, or a similar role within manufacturing industry.
Strong knowledge of ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001,ISO 45001, etc.).
Excellent understanding of legal requirements relevant to the manufacturing industry (OSHA, environmental laws, etc.).
Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Certified Lead Auditor for ISO standards is a plus.
Hands-on Experience in handling variousthird-partyexport customerauditssuch as BSCI, SMETA, CTPAT, SCAN, WCA, GSV, Technical Audits, Safety Audits, etc.
