Job Description

Purpose of the Role

To be responsible in managing commercial risks for the Unit and to facilitate the Unit operations. Also to be accountable for re-validation of business transactions prior to the execution besides preparation, analysis of annual business plan including pre-feasibility of new business opportunities.

Responsibilities in the Job

The role incumbent is responsible to ensure for Daily local Purchase of Engg.Stores & Sapres, Daily Finish Goods Dispatches & Exports, Logistics & Transportation arrangements, and Wareshoure & Stores- Inventory management with SOP compliances of the Supply Chain activities.

The activities performed by the incumbent include:

Responsibility area 1 (Operational)

  • To review, manage & control daily Purchase ordering and facilitate negociation with vendors
  • To enure timely execution of pending Purchase requisitions, Purchase orders and timely deliveries of quality materials in plant as per requirements.
  • To review and monitor daily dispatches of finish goods as per Marketing/Dispatch plan
  • To ensure daily logistics & placement of vehicles from the approved transporters as per requirement & contract terms.
  • To ensure safe & proper storage of all RM,PM,FG & Engg.items with co-ordination of sub-ordinates.
  • To monitor day-to-day ASRS material movements & its usage of Capacity optimization
  • To review and ensure daily GRN & Issuances/MO compliances of RM,PM,FG and Engg.items
  • To ensure verification of monthly physical stocks of all kind of Inventories & its compliance against variances.
  • To prepare & send monthly OBA production data report to Dept.of Chemicals & Fertilizers, New Delhi.
  • To ensure timely renewal of AMC/ARC related to plant Equirements & Machineries, Quality Control Equipements, ETP plant, Warehouse MHE, Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation related jobs with the help of all plant Committtee members.
  • To ensure disposal of Waste & Scraps of plant and old scrapped equipements as per company policy and SOP.

Responsibility area 2 (Productivity)

  • To co-ordinate and ensure timely deliverables by the suppliers & AMC vendors as per plant-maintenance requirement to minimize break down hours in plant
  • To co-ordinate with Marketing, Planner, Disptahc & logistics team for timley execution of dispatches and increase compliance level of OTIF.
  • To monitor and ensure minimum stock levels of Inventories to avoid stock out situation which lead to production down time & plant break down hours.

Responsibility area 3 (Quality)

  • To select & approve Quality vendors to avoid & minimize rejection ratio of materials.
  • To provide on job training to sub-ordinate for pre-dispatch inspection of Finish Goods to avoid any Customer complaints related to packaging, labeling & logistics front.

Responsibility area 4 (Safety and 5 S)

  • To ensure Forklift contractor & its drivers should follow and comply the Safe Forklift management systems at the plant.
  • To ensure that all materials should be stored as per material compatibility and with safety norms.
  • To provide on job 5-S & Material Safety awareness training to the sub-ordinates and contract employee & workmen.

Responsibility area 5 (Cost)

  • To optimize the cost of transportation/freight by doing negotiation & controlling detention charges by close ordination with Marketing & transporters.
  • To do timely renewal of ARC & AMC with service vendors and support plant team for optimize use of their services as per schedule committed by service vendors to avoid & minimize the breakdown hours of equiepments/machines.
  • To ensure JIT procurement and control the inventory level of Engg.Stores & Sapres

Responsibility area 6 (People Development Self/Team)

  • To delegate and empower the sub-ordinates for commercial functions e.g.Emergency procurements, Logistics cost control, Optimize use of ASRS and resources, timely actions & execution of Customer orders etc.
  • To provide On job training as per departmental SOPs and in line with IMS standard requirement & 5-S system.
  • To motivate the team as per management HR policies to enhance their productivity to support them to achieve departmental objectives.

Preferred candidate profile

  • B.Com with 25 years of Experience in Chemical, API-Pharma, & Agro Chemical industries
  • DMM, PGDBM, Certificate course in CE&ST, MBA-Supply Chain Management
