We have been mandated by a large global conglomerate for the below mentioned position. Position Title: Head - CCM Location: Boisar Qualifications Education: Bachelors Degree/Diploma in Mechanical /Production/Metallurgy Experience: 18-25 years Job Summary: You will be responsible to lead and oversee all operations of the Continuous Casting Machine (CCM) unit, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective casting of molten steel with consistent quality standards. Responsible for manpower management, productivity improvement, maintenance coordination, and process optimization. Key Responsibilities: Operational Leadership Supervise daily operations of CCM for maximum uptime and casting efficiency. Ensure strict compliance with heat plans, casting schedules, and tundish management. Drive best practices in strand management, mold oscillation, and secondary cooling. Process & Quality Management Monitor product quality parameters such as surface finish, internal soundness, and dimensions. Coordinate with QC, SMS, and rolling mill teams to ensure casting parameters match downstream requirements. Lead troubleshooting of casting defects (e.g., cracks, segregation, pinholes). Maintenance Coordination Liaise with Mechanical and Electrical departments for preventive and predictive maintenance of CCM equipment (molds, oscillators, withdrawal units, segments, etc.). Ensure minimum breakdown time and efficient spares inventory management. Safety & Compliance Promote a strong safety culture across all CCM operations. Ensure compliance with statutory and environmental regulations. Team Management Manage and mentor a team of casting supervisors, operators, and technicians. Identify skill gaps and organize training for continuous improvement. Performance & Reporting Drive KPIs such as casting yield, productivity, energy efficiency, and downtime. Prepare and submit MIS reports, downtime analysis, and performance dashboards. Capex & Improvement Projects Lead new strand commissioning, technology upgrades, and automation initiatives in CCM. Drive cost-saving and quality-improvement projects through Lean, Six Sigma, or TPM initiatives.
