Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Group Leader to oversee procurement activities based on inputs from the Engineering Department, Purchasing Process, Business Forecasts, and Material Management. The ideal candidate will have 20-25 years of relevant experience in engineering/fabrication industry.

Roles and Responsibility

Lead a team of 4 to 5 buyers to achieve strategic goals.
Analyze spending and business requirements to identify opportunities across industries.
Drive strategic procurement projects from business case to implementation.
Communicate material requirements via purchase orders to suppliers and manage deviations.
Receive and register order confirmations from suppliers, handling any deviations.
Purchase items for stock and/or project orders, including minimum and maximum settlement.
Handle deviations in supplier invoices and potentially authorize payments.
Secure accurate data in the local ERP system.
Focus on and follow up on results related to strategic goals: DOT, QA, and cost.
Support the handshake process with idea generation.
Manage global and local reporting based on defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), enabling data-driven decision-making and performance tracking across procurement and supply chain functions.

Job Requirements

Mechanical or Production Graduate Engineer with 20-25 years of relevant experience in the engineering/fabrication industry.
Possess good knowledge of engineering drawings, costing as per drawing, and fabrication processes of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, reactors, columns, etc., required in process industries like edible oil, evaporators, breweries, food & pharma.
Knowledge of different standards such as ASME, PED U stamp, and selecting, ordering, and purchasing materials & sub-contractors is essential.
Extensive knowledge of fabrication processes involving a wide range of materials, including carbon steel, mild steel, and all grades of stainless steel is required.
Experienced in working with exotic materials such as Inconel, Hastelloy, and Monel, ensuring high-quality standards and compliance with industry specifications.
Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems.
Demonstrate positive attitude, flexibility, energy, openness, and communicativeness.
Be result-driven with high integrity and strategy perspective.
Exhibit teamwork and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and develop relationships even in difficult circumstances.
Stress tolerance is an important attribute.
