Role Description: Invitation Designer – Weddings & Events

As an Invitation Designer

bespoke wedding and event invitations

Key Responsibilities

Design Excellence

• Design

  conceptual, aesthetically rich invitations

  for weddings and events, tailored to reflect unique cultures, traditions, and stories.
• Create cohesive stationery suites — from

  logos, monograms, save-the-dates, box packaging, menu cards to thank-you notes

  .
• Ensure all invitation designs are

  animation-ready

  , keeping in mind transitions, movement, and dynamic storytelling in motion formats.
• Develop

  thematic layouts

  and apply strong typographic skills to design with hierarchy, elegance, and structure.
• Integrate motifs, patterns, and cultural cues meaningfully, inspired by

  art movements, regional craftsmanship, rituals, and personal narratives

  .
• Stay ahead of design and wedding trends, incorporating

  global aesthetics, cultural symbolism, and contemporary art references

  in your work.
• Demonstrate a refined understanding of

  typefaces, visual rhythm, and layouting for both digital and print

  mediums.

Cultural Understanding & Research

• Conduct in-depth research on different cultures, traditions, and communities to craft design narratives that are

  authentic and respectful

  .
• Infuse invitations with

  regional nuance

  , keeping in mind the symbolic and emotional significance of colors, scripts, and visual elements.
• Draw inspiration from

  historical, modern, and regional art styles

  , adapting them into relevant and original design expressions.

Innovation & Collaboration

• Work closely with the animation and production team to ensure

  smooth handovers

  , keeping in mind the final format and its requirements.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to

  brainstorm ideas

  , moodboard, and pitch creative concepts with clarity and enthusiasm.
• Translate moodboards and ideas into

  final designs

  with precision and originality, ensuring a fresh visual experience for every project.
• Support and inspire junior designers or illustrators, when required.

Project Ownership & Management

• Handle projects from

  briefing to execution

  with a proactive mindset, ensuring adherence to timelines and brand standards.
• Be responsible for preparing accurate

  print-ready files

  , checking technical specs, and troubleshooting print production issues if any.
• Maintain organised files, structured processes, and consistent updates across teams.

Must-Have Skills & Qualities

• Strong understanding of the

  prerequisites and structure of invitation design

  (both static & motion)
• Excellent grasp of

  typography, layouting

  , and visual hierarchy
• Strong cultural sensitivity with an

  eye for thematic and conceptual design

• Deep awareness of aesthetic trends, art movements

  , and style adaptations
• Experience in

  designing for cultural, luxury, or destination weddings

  is a plus

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign

  ; knowledge of

  Figma

  is a bonus
• Basic understanding of

  illustration

  and how to incorporate hand-drawn or digital assets in invites
• Working knowledge of

  animation design thinking

  is essential — even if you're not animating, you must know

  how your design will move

• Exceptional research ability, storytelling skills, and attention to detail
