Graduate/Junior Instrumentation Engineer

Role & responsibilities

Job Summary

• Routine Maintenance:

  Conduct hands-on troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of field instruments (Pressure/Level Transmitters, Mass Flow Meters, RTDs, and Control Valves).

• Hazardous Area Care:

  Ensure all field devices maintain their flameproof/explosion-proof integrity (Ex-d, Ex-i) after maintenance activities.

• Loop Testing:

  Perform end-to-end loop checking from the field to the PLC/SCADA system.

2. PLC & Design (Engineering)

• Design & Drafting:

  Create and update

  P&IDs

  , Instrument Index, and Loop Drawings using

  AutoCAD

  .

• Logic Support:

  Assist in PLC/HMI programming modifications and maintain backups of all automation software.

3. Planning & Preventive Maintenance (PM)

• PM Execution:

  Prepare and execute the

  Monthly Preventive Maintenance Schedule

  to minimize unplanned downtime.

• Shutdown Planning:

  Assist in the planning of annual/periodic plant shutdowns, including the preparation of "List of Jobs," manpower coordination, and tool readiness.

• Predictive Maintenance:

  Monitor instrument health trends to predict failures before they occur.

4. Spares & Inventory Management

• Critical Spares:

  Identify and maintain a minimum stock level of critical instrumentation spares (solenoid valves, sensors, gaskets, and cards) to ensure immediate availability during breakdowns.

• Vendor Coordination:

  Prepare technical specifications for procurement and coordinate with vendors for quotes and technical evaluations.

5. ISO Compliance & Documentation

• ISO Standards:

  Maintain all documentation required for

  ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001

  (or industry-specific QMS), ensuring all calibration records are traceable to national/international standards.

• Audit Readiness:

  Participate in internal and external audits by providing maintenance logs, history cards, and calibration certificates.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Education:

  B.E. / B.Tech in Instrumentation & Control or Electronics Engineering.

• Technical Knowledge:

  Understanding of

  PLC/SCADA

  logic and proficiency in

  AutoCAD

  .

• Process Knowledge:

  Familiarity with the working of control valves, actuators, and positioners.

• Regulatory Awareness:

  Knowledge of PESO (Petroleum & Explosives Safety Organization) guidelines is highly preferred.

• Attention to Detail:

  High precision in documentation and calibration to meet stringent ISO and safety requirements.
