Electrical Engineer

Role & responsibilities

The Junior Electrical Maintenance Engineer will assist in the routine inspection, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems, focusing on the reliable operation of 33kV substations and associated distribution equipment. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to gain practical experience in high-voltage environments under the guidance of senior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• 33kV Substation Maintenance:

  Assist in the operation and maintenance of 33kV/11kV substations, including daily monitoring of transformers, circuit breakers, and isolators.

• Preventive Maintenance (PM):

  Execute scheduled PM tasks on electrical assets like Power Transformers, VCBs (Vacuum Circuit Breakers), and control panels to prevent equipment failure.

• Troubleshooting:

  Diagnose and resolve minor electrical faults in wiring, motors, and control systems to minimize operational downtime.

• Monitoring & Testing:

  Record hourly/daily readings of meters (current, voltage, power factor) and perform basic testing on equipment such as IR (Insulation Resistance) value checks and oil temperature monitoring.

• Safety & Compliance:

  strictly adhere to electrical safety protocols, including the

  Permit to Work (PTW)

  system and Lock-out/Tag-out (LOTO) procedures.

• Documentation:

  Maintain accurate maintenance logs, fault reports, and equipment history cards
