33kV substations

Key Responsibilities

• Substation Management:

  Independently manage the operation and maintenance of

  33kV/11kV substations

  , including Power Transformers (up to 20MVA or higher), OLTCs, and HT Switchgear.

• Breakdown Analysis:

  Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for electrical failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

• Relay & Protection:

  Oversee the testing and calibration of protective relays (Overcurrent, Earth Fault, Differential) and ensure the health of DC battery banks for control power.

• PM Planning:

  Develop and implement annual Preventive and Predictive Maintenance schedules for all plant electrical equipment.

• Vendor & Spare Management:

  Coordinate with external service providers for specialized testing (e.g., Transformer Oil Filtration, BDV tests) and maintain an inventory of critical spares.

• Safety Leadership:

  Enforce strict adherence to IE (Indian Electricity) rules and safety standards. Act as the primary authority for issuing and closing

  Permits to Work (PTW)

• Energy Monitoring:

  Track power consumption patterns, manage power factor correction (APFC panels), and identify energy-saving opportunities.

Technical Skills & Competencies

• High Voltage Expertise:

  Proven experience in handling 33kV Vacuum Circuit Breakers (VCBs), Air Circuit Breakers (ACBs), and SF6 breakers.

• Diagnostic Skills:

  Proficiency in advanced testing, including Sweep Frequency Response Analysis (SFRA), Tan-Delta testing, and Thermal Imaging.

• Software Proficiency:

  Familiarity with AutoCAD for reviewing electrical drawings and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for tracking work orders.

• Regulatory Knowledge:

  Deep understanding of statutory requirements for electrical installations and CEA (Central Electricity Authority) regulations.

Qualifications

• Education:

  B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.

• Experience:

  3-5 years in a manufacturing plant, utility substation, or heavy industrial environment.

• License:

  (Preferred) A-Grade Electrical Supervisor License issued by the State Electrical Inspectorate.
