About the role:

The Goalkeeping Coach, Youth Team will be responsible for developing and implementing the Youth Team Goalkeeping Strategy by working collaboratively with other coaches to improve the technical and tactical performance of the squad goalkeepers, as well as overall team performance.

What you’ll do:

1. Coaching & Player Development

• Plan and deliver age-appropriate goalkeeper and outfield training sessions in line with the academy curriculum.
• Teach relevant football skills, tactics, and techniques, with a focus on goalkeeper-specific fundamentals such as handling, positioning, footwork, distribution, and communication.
• Provide both individual and group coaching to goalkeepers within the assigned age groups (U13–U21).
• Support goalkeepers during team training sessions and on match days to ensure their integration into team play.
• Work collaboratively with other coaching staff to develop strategies and tactics for both individual and team performance.
• Monitor player development through regular assessments, video analysis, and individualized feedback sessions.
• Create a positive, challenging, and safe learning environment that promotes growth and confidence.

2. Performance Analysis & Reporting

• Maintain detailed goalkeeper development plans and performance reports.
• Use video analysis tools to evaluate performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Collaborate closely with performance analysts, strength & conditioning staff, and medical personnel to ensure a holistic development approach.
• Monitor and enhance player performance by providing continuous encouragement and actionable feedback.

3. Curriculum & Program Development

• Contribute to the ongoing development of the academy’s goalkeeper coaching curriculum and training methodology.
• Ensure all activities are aligned with the club’s playing philosophy and long-term player development model.
• Research best practices and innovative examples of goalkeeper and coaching methodologies from around the world, integrating them into the academy’s approach.
• Assist in the identification and recruitment of talented young goalkeepers.

4. Matchday Responsibilities

• Prepare goalkeepers for match conditions through structured warm-ups and tactical briefings.
• Provide in-game support, guidance, and performance observations.
• Conduct post-match reviews and performance evaluations to facilitate learning and improvement.

5. Professional Development & Collaboration

• Work closely with the Head Coach, age-group coaches, and academy staff to ensure consistency and collaboration across all programs.
• Attend staff meetings, workshops.
• Stay informed about the latest coaching methods, sports science innovations, and goalkeeper trends to continually improve practice.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Recognized Goalkeeper Coaching License (minimum: insert level, e.g., AFC/UEFA GK License).
• Proven experience coaching youth goalkeepers within a professional or academy environment.
• Strong understanding of goalkeeper and team training methodologies.
• Excellent communication, observation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to inspire, motivate, and develop young players in alignment with the club’s values and philosophy.
