Job Description

Position: General Manager (GM) Apparels

  • Oversee end-to-end operations of the apparel division, including retail / distribution, production units,
  • Ensure smooth execution of daily business activities across all locations.
  • Implement operational SOPs to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Monitor inventory levels, stock movement, and replenishment planning.

2. Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve monthly and annual targets.
  • Track store performance and improve footfall-to-conversion ratios.
  • Identify new business opportunities, markets, and channels for expansion.

3. Merchandising & Product Management

  • Guide the merchandising team in product selection, assortment planning, and seasonal collections.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor offerings, and consumer preferences.
  • Ensure product quality, pricing competitiveness, and timely availability.

4. Brand Development & Marketing

  • Strengthen brand positioning and visibility across markets.
  • Coordinate with marketing teams for campaigns, promotions, and visual merchandising.
  • Ensure consistent brand standards in stores and communication.

5. Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop store managers, merchandisers, and operational teams.
  • Conduct performance reviews, set KPIs, and identify training needs.
  • Ensure staff productivity and maintain a high-performance work culture.

6. Vendor & Supply Chain Management

  • Manage relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and logistics partners.
  • Negotiate costs, timelines, and quality benchmarks.
  • Ensure timely procurement and seamless supply chain flow.

7. Financial Management

  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and business reports.
  • Monitor P&L performance and ensure profitability.
  • Analyse financial data and take corrective actions as needed.

8. Compliance & Standards

  • Ensure adherence to company policies, brand guidelines, and legal requirements.
  • Implement best practices in safety, customer service, and operational excellence.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Business Management, Fashion Management, Retail Management, or related fields.
  • Minimum

    10- 15 years

    of experience in Apparel/Retail industry, with at least

    5 years in a senior leadership role

    .
  • Strong knowledge of apparel merchandising, production, sourcing, and retail operations.
  • Proven track record of driving sales and operational excellence.
