GitHub Enterprise Cloud migration project

Key Responsibilities

• Migration Execution 
• Lead the migration of 6,000+ repositories from BitBucket On-Premises to GitHub Enterprise Cloud
• Execute 300 repositories per week migration cadence to meet enterprise license renewal deadline
• Handle complex migration scenarios including LFS (Large File Storage) issues and scalability challenges
• Manage async migration processes for GitHub Actions workflows
• Implement feature flag configurations including tar_reader_process_pax_headers_inline Technical Operations
• Configure and manage Self-Hosted GitHub Runners for enterprise-scale operations
• Perform dry run migrations and validate migration integrity
• Implement read-only archival processes on BitBucket with 2-week overlap periods
• Troubleshoot and resolve GitHub Actions migration issues
• Coordinate with vendor support teams for platform ticket resolution on complex repository migrations

Technical Expertise

• 5+ years of experience with GitHub Enterprise Cloud administration and configuration
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with large-scale repository migrations
• Expert-level knowledge of GitHub Actions, workflows, and CI/CD pipeline migrations
• Proven experience with BitBucket to GitHub migrations specifically
• Strong understanding of Git operations, branching strategies, and repository management
• Experience with Self-Hosted GitHub Runners setup and maintenance
• Knowledge of LFS (Large File Storage) handling and troubleshooting Migration Expertise
• Previous experience managing enterprise-scale migrations (3000+ repositories)
• Understanding of repository classification, history preservation, and selective migration strategies
• Experience with GitHub mirroring and synchronization approaches
• Knowledge of permission mapping and user migration between platforms
• Familiarity with GitHub Enterprise security features and compliance requirements

Additional Skills

• Experience with Jenkins, or other CI/CD tools integration with GitHub
• Understanding of RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) in GitHub Enterprise
• Knowledge of GitHub APIs and automation scripting
• Experience working with Fortune 500 enterprise licensing and renewal processes
• Familiarity with multi-region development team coordination

Preferred Qualifications

• GitHub certifications
• Previous experience with Atlassian tool migrations
• Experience with Kubernetes-based scaling solutions
• Knowledge of SSDLC (Secure Software Development Lifecycle) practices
• Experience with enterprise change management processes
• Background working with US-based enterprise clients
