GIS Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled GIS Specialist to support our civil engineering and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will work alongside engineers, planners, surveyors, and environmental teams to deliver accurate spatial data analysis, mapping, and geospatial solutions. You will play a key role in supporting projects such as transportation networks, land development, utilities, and environmental impact assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect, process, and manage spatial data to support civil engineering projects, including roads, bridges, utilities, and site development.
• Create high-quality maps, CAD/GIS overlays, and spatial visualizations to support planning, design, and construction phases.
• Integrate GIS with AutoCAD and Civil 3D workflows to assist with design coordination and spatial analysis.
• Conduct terrain modeling, contour generation, watershed analysis, and site suitability analysis using GIS tools.
• Support survey and field data integration using GPS and mobile data collection tools.
• Manage geodatabases and ensure spatial data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project requirements.
• Provide GIS support during environmental assessments, permitting, and stakeholder presentations.
• Assist in preparing technical documentation, reports, and presentations with geospatial content.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure GIS data meets engineering and planning needs.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a GIS role, preferably within a civil engineering or infrastructure consultancy.
• Proficiency in Esri ArcGIS (Desktop, Pro, Online), AutoCAD (Civil 3D a plus), and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with topographic mapping, site analysis, and infrastructure planning using spatial data.
• Solid understanding of coordinate systems, projections, and geodatabase management.
• Strong cartographic skills and attention to detail in map design and data presentation.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Civil 3D, InfraWorks, and integration of CAD and GIS data formats.
• Knowledge of surveying methods and geospatial data collection technologies.
• Understanding of environmental permitting and land use planning processes.
• Experience with mobile GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, Collector).

Working Conditions:

• Office-based work with occasional site visits or field data collection.
• May require coordination with multidisciplinary teams across multiple projects.
• Some travel may be required based on project needs.

Pay: From ₹30,000.00 per month
