Project

Mineral Resources Mapping for state of Odisha, which is being implemented by OMC for the Govt of Odisha. The scope of project covers from baseline data generation (including Airborne Surveys) to resources modeling (G2 Exploration) for various minerals in the state of Odisha.

Role Description

The position of Sr Geologist is for MRM Project of Odisha. The objectives of the project which are following (but not limited)

•* Legacy Data and Reports Review and Gap analysis*

•* Identification of Area's of Interest (Prospects), Ground follow-up*

•* Aero geophysical Survey (Mag, EM, Radiometric) and identification of prospective blocks from new set of data *

Sr geologist will be part of a team of experienced Geologists, Geophysicist and GIS expert to deliver above objectives. She/he will have access to pool of National and International experts to be effectively utilized to achieve the goals at par with world standards

Qualifications: M.Sc./MSc. (Tech)/ M. Tech in Geology/Applied Geology

Experience: 10+ years of professional experience in:

•* Geological mapping, drilling supervision, logging and sampling involving minerals such as base metals, iron ore, manganese, chromite. *

•* Regional reconnaissance prospecting, alteration mapping, sampling and target generation *

•* Responsible for field mapping, core logging, geological data interpretation, *

•* Mapping and on-site supervision of drilling and sampling *

•* Assist in planning the exploration activities *

•* Liaise with other exploration agencies to collect exploration related data *

Competency

•* Due diligence for variety of mineral deposits with competence in geological investigation *

•* Preparation of geological maps, plans and cross section drawings *

•* Extensive field experience in drill supervision, logging and sampling *

•* Hands on experience of geology and resource modelling software such as Surpac, Datamine etc. and GIS software such as ArcGIS, MapInfo*
