General Manager (National Staffing Operations Manager)

Roles & Responsibilities

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the single point of contact (SPOC) for staffing requirements across Layams clients in India.
  • Liaise with client HR/Operations heads to understand manpower requirements, timelines, and ensure mandates are delivered as promised.
  • Coordinate with

    Layam Supervisors

    deployed at client sites to ensure smooth operations and resolve escalations quickly.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with

    colleges, ITIs, skill-development institutes, and government agencies

    to create a reliable talent pipeline.

Team Leadership & Internal Operations

  • Manage and guide a team of recruiters, supervisors, and coordinators handling client accounts.
  • Monitor team performance, set targets, and ensure closure of staffing mandates within agreed SLAs.
  • Conduct regular reviews with internal teams to track hiring, joining, and retention metrics.
  • Drive compliance across onboarding, payroll, statutory requirements (PF, ESI, labour law adherence).

Recruitment & Workforce Management

  • Plan and execute bulk hiring, fresher drives, campus recruitment, and lateral hiring as per client needs.
  • Oversee the complete employee lifecycle: hiring onboarding deployment attrition control replacement.
  • Ensure 100% fulfilment of client mandates within promised timelines.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce attrition and improve associate engagement.

Travel & Onsite Responsibilities

  • Regularly travel to client sites across India to oversee deployment, resolve issues, and strengthen client confidence.
  • Conduct audits and field visits to ensure workforce management quality.
  • Represent Layam in meetings with government skill councils, institutions, and industry bodies.

Reporting & Commitments

  • Provide periodic MIS and dashboards to management on hiring numbers, attrition rates, and client satisfaction.
  • Ensure that all commitments made to clients during proposals and agreements are honoured.
  • Contribute to process improvements, automation, and efficiency in staffing operations.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience:

    10 -15 years in

    staffing, recruitment operations, or large-scale manpower management

    , preferably in manufacturing, automotive, or service industries.
  • Skills:

    Strong people management, negotiation, client-handling, networking with colleges/institutes, knowledge of labour compliances.
  • Personality:

    High accountability, ability to travel extensively, result-driven, and excellent communication skills in English, Hindi, and Tamil (advantage).
  • Location:

    Chennai (with extensive travel).
