In Real Estate / Construction Industry Experience

Our Company is involved in (1) Govt. Infrastructure Building Contracting (EPC Contractor). (2) Rental Real Estates (Office Space, Mall, Factory Building and Residential. (3) Food Court, Game Zone and Family Entertainment Centre (with merchant banking).

Direct & Indirect tax laws

The ideal candidate shall possess a strong background in Direct & Indirect tax law and regulations, experience in managing Direct & Indirect tax compliance and a passion for providing exceptional Direct & Indirect tax planning and advice. Ability to draft legal responses/communication is an essential required skill of the candidate.

Objectives of this role

• Developing and maintaining Direct & Indirect tax plans, compliance procedures and risk assessment frameworks, to ensure effective tax management.
• Managing and overseeing the filing of regular tax returns, including Income Tax,

  GST

  , PF, ESI and Labour laws etc.

• Collaborating

  with finance and accounting teams to ensure Direct & Indirect Tax strategies and policies are implemented accurately as per compliances.
• Identifying, tracking and reporting any potential

  financial risks

  or issues and working closely with the accounting teams to implement appropriate solutions.

• Legal :

  Ability to reply to basic Direct & Indirect tax legal notices and review legal documentation

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct a thorough analysis of taxes to provide expert advice on Direct & Indirect Tax planning and optimisation opportunities to ensure compliance with local regulations.
• Coordinate and manage tax audits, inquiries and notices from tax authorities (GST, Income Tax, PF, ESI, and Labour Dept. etc).
• Maintain documentation and records related to statutory payments, filings, provisions and other Direct & Indirect Tax -related activities.
• Monitor banking relationships (including timely submission of documentation), negotiate financing terms and conditions. Review of multi-banking activities.
• Legal drafting and understanding of land documents relates to construction projects and real estate.
• Collaborate with other departments and teams, such as finance, accounts and operations, to ensure alignment and co-ordination on Direct & Indirect tax matters.
• Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on financial issues, including tax implications of business decisions and transactions along with finance team.
• Stay updated with changes in tax Direct & Indirect tax and regulations and proactively identify potential risks or opportunities for the organisation and its allied business.
• Foster a culture of tax compliance and awareness throughout the organisation, providing training and support as needed.

Required skills and qualifications

• A bachelors degree in commerce, accounting, taxation or a related field.
• Professional qualification of Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost Accountant (CMA).
• Minimum of 7+ years of experience in tax management, in a Real Estate / Construction Industry.
• Strong understanding of statutory planning strategies and experience in managing Income Tax, Goods and Services Tax (GST), ESI and PF.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (Banks, Direct & Indirect Tax Authorities, Auditors and external consultants).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail in Direct & Indirect Tax / Statutory / Legal / Accounting / Banking.

Preferred skills and qualifications

• Knowledge of Tally Prime.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Any related software tools is a plus.
• Experience min 7 years in the relevant field.
• Remuneration: 18 to 30 Lakhs per annum, based on the experience and skills.
