GM - Finance and Accounts (Shipyard location)

Provide necessary support  and inputs to the CEO and CFO for achieving business goals.

Ensure completion of statutory audit of shipyard operations

Overall responsibility for the functions of Finance & Accounts team at shipyard

Preparation of Annual budget of the Company

Periodic review of Project budget

Timely and correct accounting of income and expense

Facilitate internal audit and strengthen internal controls based on audit findings

Develop various MIS reports as per management requirements

Review of MIS reports before forwarding to higher management

SAP approval of WO/ PO -as per limits defined by management

Plan periodical verification of inventory and fixed assets

Ensure timely fund transfer to / from Mumbai for smooth banking operations

Bring necessary controls for payments and monitor that the same are implemented

Interaction with internal auditors (inhouse & external) and responsible for CAPA in Finance & Accounts at Shipyard

Ensure that various returns of indirect tax are filed and litigations are handled diligently

Take care of visit by bankers/ lenders/ tax authorities to shipyard

Provide guidance for Costing and budgeting activity

Ensure that various returns of EOU & SEZ are filed, approvals are obtained and litigations are handled diligently

Ensure effective implementation of IFCs (internal financial controls) including documentation thereof.

Develop and make future ready the Accounts, Finance, Taxation and Compliances team at shipyard. Identify their training requirement and give them training, support, motivation to achieve higher goals.

Establish strong maker checker practice in various accounting activities so as to minimise audit observations / qualifications at pre-audit level/ internal audit/ statutory audit/ ISO audit.

Develop Department manual and SOP  for all accounting activities

Provide financial concurrence to various commercial proposals - Purchase orders and work orders.

Provide required data for the purpose of bidding and evaluate bid proposals

Ensure compliance of all applicable Commercial laws including Taxation, Companies Act, FEMA etc.
