Description
As a Senior Fundraising Officer (Proposal Writer) at WOTR in Pune, your role will involve leading the development of compelling grant proposals, pitch decks, RFP responses, and concept notes aligned with WOTR/ W-CReS mission. You will collaborate with fundraisers, program directors, and researchers to create high-quality narratives that effectively communicate complex field interventions and critical community needs. Your responsibilities will include mentoring a junior writer, contributing to fundraising strategy, and engaging with donors to uplift vulnerable rural communities. Key Responsibilities: - Develop compelling grant proposals, pitch decks, RFP responses, and concept notes - Collaborate with internal teams to craft narrative portions of proposals - Mentor junior writer and contribute to fundraising strategy - Engage with donors to support the organization's mission Qualifications & Skills Required: - Passion for rural development and commitment to uplifting vulnerable rural communities - Bachelor's or Master's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Economics, or related field - 2-4 years of experience in proposal writing, content writing, communications, or grant writing - Talent for reporting, documentation, and exceptional writing skills - Proficiency in visual communication tools like Canva - Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines - Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within the organization - Curiosity for innovative storytelling methods and new business development tools - Interest in national and international business affairs to tap funding opportunities - Solution-oriented mindset and practical problem-solving approach - Patience and compassion for the challenges of working in the non-profit sector - Willingness to travel at least once every 2 months About WOTR: WOTR (Watershed Organisation Trust) has been actively involved in sustainable development and resilience-building across 8 states in India for over 32 years.
