Role Summary:
1. Design and develop FRP components for railway coaches and for other FRP applications.
2. Select appropriate materials (resins, fibers, fillers) to meet strength, durability, and fire safety requirements.
3. Prepare and review drawings, process documents, and technical specifications.
4. Develop and monitor FRP manufacturing processes (hand layup, RTM, vacuum infusion, etc.).
5. Coordinate with mould fabrication teams and oversee production activities.
6. Conduct material and product testing (mechanical, thermal, fire/smoke/toxicity).
7. Inspect FRP components for defects and ensure adherence to quality standards (RDSO, EN 45545, ASTM).
8. Support integration and fitment of FRP parts in coach structure.
9. Work with vendors and suppliers for material procurement and quality validation.
10. Drive continuous improvement in design, weight optimization, cost reduction, and defect minimization.
11. Train shop-floor teams on FRP handling, fabrication, and safety practices.
12. Maintain technical documentation, reports, and compliance records
13. Proficiency in CAD tools (CATIA, SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
14. Understanding of quality systems (ISO/IRIS, Six Sigma, Lean).
15. Good problem-solving, communication, and team coordination skills.
