About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Freelance DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in managing, optimizing, and securing WordPress server environments. The selected candidate will be responsible for implementing DevOps best practices, ensuring high performance, and maintaining a stable and scalable hosting ecosystem for WordPress-based applications.

Key Responsibilities

Configure, maintain, and optimize WordPress servers (Apache/Nginx, PHP-FPM, MySQL/MariaDB).

Implement and manage cloud-based infrastructure on AWS, Google Cloud, Digital Ocean, or similar platforms.

Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines for WordPress deployments and updates.

Enhance website performance through caching strategies, CDN integration, and database tuning.

Implement robust security measures, including firewalls, SSL, malware protection, and server hardening.

Set up and manage automated backup and restore systems.

Monitor server health, uptime, and performance using industry-standard tools.

Diagnose and resolve complex server issues, performance bottlenecks, and plugin conflicts.

Prepare and maintain technical documentation for configurations and workflows.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Proven experience in managing WordPress hosting environments at scale.

Strong proficiency in Linux server administration (Ubuntu/CentOS).

Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Digital Ocean.

Proficiency in Git, version control workflows, and tools such as WP-CLI and Composer.

Experience with automation and configuration tools (e.g., Ansible, Docker, terraform preferred but not mandatory).

Practical knowledge of caching technologies such as Redis, Memcached, Cloudflare, NGINX caching, etc.

Strong understanding of web security practices and server hardening.

Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
