FPS BIM Modeler

Position Title: Fire BIM Modeler / Fire Protection BIM Modeler

Experience: 3 – 8 Years

Location: Chennai L&T

Qualification: Diploma / B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering

Role & Responsibilities

• Develop and manage Fire Protection System BIM models using Autodesk Revit MEP.
• Model and coordinate sprinkler systems, hydrant systems, hose reels, wet riser, dry riser, and fire pump rooms.
• Deliver BIM models up to LOD 300, LOD 400, and as-built (LOD 500 where applicable).
• Lead pipe routing strategies, equipment placement, and access planning.
• Perform and manage clash detection using Navisworks Manage.
• Resolve complex clashes with Structural, HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing teams.
• Produce FPS shop drawings, coordination drawings, sections, and detailed views.
• Review junior modelers’ work and ensure compliance with project BIM standards.
• Participate in coordination meetings and provide technical inputs.
• Ensure modeling compliance with NFPA, NBC, and local fire authority standards.
• Support BOQ take-offs, model audits, and as-built documentation.
• Maintain BIM templates, families, and naming conventions.

Technical Skills Required

• Autodesk Revit MEP (Fire Protection) – Advanced level
• AutoCAD
• Navisworks Manage (Advanced Clash Detection)
• BIM 360 / ACC
• Strong understanding of LOD 100–500

Fire Protection System Expertise

• Automatic sprinkler systems
• Fire hydrant & hose reel systems
• Wet riser / Dry riser systems
• Fire pump room layouts and equipment coordination
• Valves, fittings, hangers, sleeves, and access requirements

Standards & Codes Knowledge

• NFPA 13, 14, 20, 24
• NBC (India)
• Local fire department / authority norms

Soft Skills & Leadership

• Strong coordination and communication skills
• Ability to lead and mentor junior BIM modelers
• Problem-solving and decision-making ability
• Time management and multi-project handling
• Client and consultant interaction experience

Preferred / Added Advantage

• Experience in commercial, high-rise, data center, industrial, or healthcare projects
• Exposure to international fire standards and projects
• Knowledge of Revit family creation and BIM execution plans (BEP)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
