FP&A Analyst II

As a member of the Finance department at Elsevier, you will be part of the Centre of Excellence FPR&A team, a dynamic and collaborative group dedicated to providing critical financial insights and support to drive the company's strategic objectives. Your role will involve conducting in-depth analysis, planning, and trend identification to provide valuable financial insights to the executive team. Key Responsibilities: - Gather, interpret, and analyze information to make assessments and complete reconciliations. - Provide critical financial insights through in-depth analysis, scenario planning, and trend identification to guide strategic decision-making. - Gain a deep understanding of financial systems and processes. - Analyze large sets of data to extract valuable insights for presentation to leadership and business partners. - Support month-end close activities by preparing and analyzing schedules to understand their impact on financials. - Identify problem areas, patterns, trends, or missing pieces in financial data, and make recommendations for resolution. - Identify improvements, document recommendations, and assist with implementing new processes. - Provide guidance to other functional areas and assist with solutions. - Perform ad hoc analysis as needed. Qualifications Required: - 3-6 years of prior experience in substantial diverse financial analysis and accounting. - Advanced computer skills including Excel, Essbase, and Hyperion. - Understanding of financial system structures and data flows. - Attention to detail, advanced analytical and problem-solving skills. - Strong organizational and time management skills. - Excellent communication and presentation skills. - Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. - Ability to complete financial analysis with minimal direction.
