Forklift Operator

Key Responsibilities Equipment Operation: Safely operate a forklift to move, relocate, stack, and count various materials, products, and merchandise.  Loading & Unloading: Load and unload goods and materials from trucks, delivery vehicles, and storage areas.  Material Handling: Transport materials to and from designated areas, such as storage locations, production machines, and loading docks.  Equipment Maintenance: Conduct daily pre-operation checks of the forklift, perform minor maintenance tasks (like refueling or charging batteries), and report any mechanical issues to supervisors.  Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all company safety protocols and regulatory requirements, such as OSHA standards, to prevent accidents and ensure a safe work environment.  Inventory Management: Accurately record inventory movements, update inventory systems, and participate in regular inventory counts to ensure accuracy.  Workplace Organization: Stack and organize products and materials in designated areas, ensuring that loads are stable and within weight limits to prevent accidents.  Hazardous Material Handling: Safely handle and dispose of hazardous waste materials when required.  Record Keeping: Document all forklift operations, including logs of daily activities and maintenance checks, and maintain accurate records of received and shipped items.  Communication: Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to coordinate material handling activities and address issues.  Essential Skills Attention to Detail: For accurate record-keeping and safe handling of materials.  Physical Stamina: To perform the physical demands of the job, which may include manual handling.  Basic Math Skills: For weight calculations and inventory management.  Good Communication Skills: To coordinate with team members and supervisors.  Forklift Operator Job Description [Updated 2025] - IndeedLoad, unload, pack, and unpack materials.
