As a Food Scientist at Umami Bioworks, you will be part of a pioneering team dedicated to developing sustainable cultivated seafood technology. You will play a crucial role in leading the development and optimization of applications for our cultivated seafood technology, collaborating with clients to integrate the technology into their production processes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Your innovative thinking and strong analytical skills will contribute to the continuous improvement of our technology's applications. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the development and optimization of applications for cultivated seafood technology - Conduct research to identify innovative applications and improvements in technology - Guide the optimization of the cell culturing process for efficiency and scalability - Provide technical support to clients for effective use of the technology - Collaborate with clients to ensure successful integration of the technology into their processes - Design and conduct sensory evaluation tests for product quality assessment - Ensure regulatory compliance with food safety standards and maintain documentation - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technology development with market demands - Stay updated with advancements in food science and technology for continuous improvement Qualifications Required: - 5-10 years of experience in food science or related field - Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related field (Master's or PhD preferred) - Experience in seafood product development and launching new products - Strong understanding of food science principles and regulatory requirements - Familiarity with cell-culturing or alternative protein technologies is a plus Umami Bioworks is a venture-backed biotech startup based in Singapore, where passionate individuals are working towards a sustainable food future.
