Identify potential crops/products suitable for value addition based on local availability and market demand. Design and implement value addition strategies for fruits, vegetables, grains, and other farm produce (e.g., dehydration, pickling, flour processing, snacks). Develop low-cost, scalable processing techniques suitable for smallholder farmers or FPOs. Assist in setting up processing units, quality control protocols, and food safety standards (FSSAI compliance). Conduct training programs and capacity building for farmers, women SHGs, and local entrepreneurs on value addition, shelf-life extension, and hygiene practices. Support in branding, packaging design, and market linkage of value-added products. Maintain detailed documentation of R&D activities, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and outcomes.

Design and perform efficacy and safety studies of herbal and plant-based formulations using standard pharmacological models. Conduct bioassays, toxicity tests, and mechanism of action studies using in vitro and/or in vivo techniques. Analyze and interpret pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic data. Prepare technical reports, research papers, and regulatory documentation as needed. Assist in developing protocols for standardization and quality control of herbal products. Preferably 1- 2 years of experience in pharmacological evaluation of herbal formulations, plant-based extracts, or natural products. Familiarity with in vitro/in vivo testing methods and pharmacological screening protocols for herbal compounds. Candidates with knowledge of Ayurvedic formulations, traditional medicine, or toxicological studies will be given preference. Conduct research on plant pathogens (fungi, bacteria, viruses, nematodes) affecting major crops. Isolate, identify, and characterize disease-causing organisms using standard microbiological and molecular techniques. Develop, test, and validate biological and integrated disease management (IDM) strategies, including microbial and natural product-based formulations. Design and conduct greenhouse and field trials to evaluate efficacy of disease management practices. Document findings and prepare technical reports, scientific publications, and extension literature for farmers. Train and guide farmers in recognizing plant diseases, adopting management practices, and improving crop health. Support innovation in developing sustainable, cost-effective disease control solutions aligned with organic/natural farming principles. Mandatory Key Skills Familiarity with molecular plant pathology tools (PCR, ELISA, sequencing). Experience in developing biopesticides, microbial formulations, or natural product-based disease control agents. Passion for working with farmers and promoting sustainable agriculture. Conduct soil sampling, testing, and analysis of physicochemical and biological parameters. Operate and maintain soil testing lab equipment (e.g., pH meter, EC meter, spectrophotometer, Kjeldahl apparatus, Flame photometer, atomic absorption spectrometer). Record and analyze data using standard scientific methods. Translate test results into farmer-friendly soil health reports. Maintain documentation and reports as per project guidelines. Minimum 1-3 years of experience in soil testing and analysis of physicochemical properties of soil (freshers with strong lab skills may also be considered). Hands-on experience with soil sampling, laboratory equipment, and analytical techniques (e.g., pH, EC, OC, macro- and micronutrients, microbial diversity, PGPR screening). Proficiency in interpreting soil test results and formulating recommendations for soil health improvement. Strong knowledge of soil fertility, nutrient dynamics, and microbial activity.
